I am not sure who will remember this poor lad: I can't go into the details too much, but he was a horse in need of rescuing and probably wouldn't have made it if he hadn't been liberated from his situation. Two wonderful IHDGers put up the money to buy him so he could be extracted from his owner and sent to rescue. This is him, 5 years on, with the girl who adopted him and totally adores him Who would have thought it is the same horse! I can't thank the ladies enough for what they did - and neither can his new mum, who wanted her thanks to be passed on.

It's been a while since I did an update on the story of this horse. This week he came over to the UK in order to compete in dressage at Hickstead. He did very well apparently, but I couldn't tell you the details because this isn't really my area. On Sunday, I had the great joy of meeting up with him for the first time since rescue day about 6 years ago. I couldn't believe how much he has grown! He was about 14.2 when I saw him last, and very thin and in poor condition, with awful lice and worms. He is now a great big fellow, over 16 hands! His mum has fed him up and brought him on beautifully. I don't care about competition stuff, although it is good to point out that rescue horses with what looks like little competitive potential can sometimes surprise everyone. It is just wonderful to see him so happy and well. Honestly, I don't think I have seen a more pampered horse. When I said good bye to him, he had just been put in his massage blanket. I expect someone came round to give him a head massage later He is a half brother to my TigerLily and shares her vibrant and independent spirit - but is a total Mummy's boy too! It was lovely to see the relationship between him and his owner.
