....At my yard near Gatwick! So we held a coffee morning recently and got some brilliant feedback so we're planning to host lots more bits and pieces in 2015 but here is the first event!! Horsemanship Clinic- Saturday the 17th of January 2015For those of you that came to the coffee morning it will be expanding on the techniques discussed there giving you a chance to have a go yourself with your own horse and learn some new techniques too. There will be an opportunity to do some ridden work if you want to as well or you can expand on the ground work further if you'd rather. The emphasis is on teaching the foundations of softness and control of feet as a basis for any horse both on the ground and ridden as well as working on handler/rider timing, softness, body language and feel. For those of you that haven't worked with Jim before he is an incredibly talented horseman with a wealth of experience in starting and training horses in both English and Western. As well as being an RA he is a UKCC Western coach and uses techniques from IH and English horsemanship with a healthy dose of cowboy skills to produce well rounded, soft and willing horses......So it will be a brilliant day! Spaces are booking up already so email mary.chick@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested. We'd love to have a nice crowd of DGers There will be some Western clinics in Feb including a Western taster day too which I will post details of later. Ooh, I didn't realise that Jim Goddard did the Western training too - I'd love to try that! Think he may be coming to Ann-Marie's yard again next summer? Fingers crossed. The Orange Horse would just make the most brilliant Western horse, he's sooooooo bling!

I wish I was closer too, but definitely too far sadly. Lizpurlo I think Orange and Lucas would look good doing Western together, though Lucas is definitely more mud and hair than bling at the moment . I've been thinking of having a go at Western with him next year, we need to do something completely different that we don't both have scary memories of - and I fancy a saddle with a horn 'just in case'!! I think he would enjoy the looser style of riding.

That's a shame guys! I think he's be doing more clinics dotted about the country this year and Liz I'm pretty sure he'll be up to Wales too so don't worry I'm a complete Western convert now (all Jim's fault) - Love the way of riding and so does my horse Molly

Thanks janwilky I'll let him know!! He usually goes up to Anne Marie's and does a clinic once a year. I'll try to post the clinic details on here when he's organised the 2015 one (I'm determined to make it up there this time too! hehe)

That sounds like fun! The coffee mornings are such a great idea... and I'm REALLY too far away.
