Hi all,
Am investing in a new riding hat as I've had mine for donkeys years. I'm after something flattering, lightweight and not too expensive - any recommendations?
I'm also after a body protector.

Riding hats, you need to go and try some on. What fits me might not fit you. On your list of requirements you have missed off the most important which is 'safest'
Only two brands fit me, some Charles Owen and some gatehouse so whenever I buy a new hat I go for the safest I can afford from the ones that fit. Currently that is a gatehouse RXC1, it is relatively lightweight, has good vents and a removeable washable liner. It wouldn't win me an Easter bonnet contest but it does protect my brain cells (what's left if them) as much as any riding hat can do.

Totally agree with the others, I have a small round head so champion hats fit me best, I have children's ones because my head is so small!

Oh and body protection I have a Point two jacket which while pricey saved me a lot of injury recently when I had a bad fall! Totally comfy even in summer.
