With the others (Harry being ignored here... sorry Harry) i do not have this problem as they do not run as far or fast as Mr Milo does hahahaha anyway Milo has a pretty solid recall as in he comes back seemingly pretty instantly BUT as he has run soooooooooo fast and soooooooo far it can seem like its a little while. The other day for instance took him to park and he was doing great until he found a gap in the fence and scarpered through it running out into the quietish lane i panicked inwardly but called him back and give him his dues especially as it was a neighbouring dog he was visiting he returned i wanted to kill him but praised him A LOT clipped him on his lead for a minute asked him to sit then let him go again. Anyway i either need a solid "stop moving this instant" or a way of keeping him from running quite so far ahead hahaha. I mean he now comes to "check in" with me so runs ahead comes back checks in, runs off again and i do not wish to spoil his fun but im worried one day he will shoot off and meet something unfriendly in his path and i wont be able to help him..... sugestions!!!! His "stay" is good indoors with feed bowl but not reliable enough to stop him moving and im not sure its a good idea to use atleast not yet. I need something to slow him down or get him back faster.

Do you use a whistle, or do you call him? Acme 210.5 whistles are great for Spaniels, once they know what it means! I think Elmo's breeders must have whistled the puppies as they fed them, or something, as Elmo seemed to come whistle trained! They are certainly great gap and squeezey hole finders!
