Fishing for compliments.
Re-training my ex-racer is taking forever and originally I said to myself I was not going to ride anything else as it would put me off riding her, but over the months/years we have not got far enough to have a proper workout and it occurred to me that I really needed to ride again, so still doing ground work with her but I have borrowed a friends Arab and been doing my lessons again. Now he is not the easiest ride, has a coronary if your not correct and the typical nose in the air can be a bit intimidating, but stuck with it and had my first canter in two years today! Best thing is that I feel more ready for my Mare now.

Not sure what complements you want...but well done anyway! I've a friend who is beginning to get back to riding after 3-4 yrs break as her mare was in foal (long story). Last year she started teh youngster and this year will be doing more riding and she's admitted that despite having ridden all her life, she feels that her riding muscles adn reactions need a little refreshing!
So well done for recoginsing the need in yourself and doing something about it!

That's great, and will give your confidence such a boost, especially as he's not a plod, but takes some riding. Means that you can approach riding your girl with a far more positive attitude - great stuff!
Arabs are fab - I used to ride an Arab cross Welsh years ago, when I'd not long learned to ride - and he was just like that, buzzy and sensitive, rubber snaffle mouth, head and tail high, but just so much fun. And knowing I could ride him happily gave me the confidence to jump on board other horses too.
