Thanks guys. I went out with a friend again the other day and we decided to trot and said if I felt comfortable so have a short canter. I thought ok I must just do this especially while trialling him. So I was prepared for bucking etc and he just went into canter like a rocking horse and was amazing! In fact the friend had more problems with her brakes. He was so easy to pull up! Total pleasure considering I haven't even walked through open field on a horse for years as Hanni got too excited and bucked so lost confidence, Cody's hooves touch the grass and he feels no difference to when on concrete! Amazing!!

Sounds like you've got a little star there. Well done you. Just keep on as you're doing now, and soon you'll wonder what all that lack of confidence nonsense was! The more good experiences you have, the more your brain anticipates good experiences, which of course leads to yet more good experiences! Lovely pleasurable virtuous circle. And the weather is improving, giving you even more chances to enjoy riding Cody.
