OH had to have one last year, and as Liz says, the procedure isn't too bad, but the Picolax really does what it says on the tin. If you don't have more than one loo in the house, suggest that all other residents evacuate the premises for the duration!

I live alone luckily, but yes only one loo, but got a cat and a dog to trip over....

Check out the sedation thing as it isn't routine in my area (Lincolnshire).

I didn't have sedation and didn't need it. Bear in mind if you do ask for sedation you won't be able to drive straight away.

I will ask for sedation, but I don't have a car at the moment so driving isn't a problem.. (I do miss Bruno though)

Jaxnbreeze, as you know I'm in the same county as you, OH is a GP and says it should be done routinely under sedation. No idea why that doesn't happen but it bloody well should!!
