If someone can help Emmie the sooner the better, please do
This was forwarded on to me on Facebook. The dog is a Bull Greyhound and has issues, but the owner of the rescue clearly does not like her, and is wanting rid by the sounds of it at any cost. She is not willing to help the dog in anyway, and has even said that Emmie can go to another rescue...
It is beyond belief, that a rescue does not want to help.

Well, if I was looking at rescues and read a comment like that I would certainly look elsewhere. The damage she has done to her business/rescue will be unmeasurable with comments like that, what a dip stick and that isnt even thinking about the poor dog.
Obviously my comments are on just what I have seen and you have said, Julz. Is there anymore to the story that you are aware of?

Tia collect in our town centre on a regular basis, and they do some very good work with this much abused type of dog Greyhounds/Lurchers
I believe that the comment made was never meant for publication at all, and was an internal honest assessment of the dog. Greyhound/Bull crosses are bred for one thing only, and that is catching and pulling down whatever is being hunted. I feel sorry for the individual dog who would have better never been born, but I am equally aware that such a cross slipped a lead and killed another dog in our borough lately, so saying that she was only suitable for a home where she was an only dog and leaving it at that would do no favours. Sometimes rescues are in a position of having to make judgement calls on individuals which are unpalatable. I don't know what was said as I have not seen the original post, but Tia do some very good work with ex racers indeed

Jackiedo.... I read that comment on the website as did a whole load of others... it was also linked to her facebook page... when she started getting hit on (for want of a better phrase) she started deleting posts, wouldn't answer anyone, got nasty, started telling people it was none of their business.. people are now saying she won't even answer the phone, people just want to help that dog, and with her not being responsive that dog is not going to be able to be given a chance... nor the other dogs in her care... That dog could be turned around with using +R and rehomed successfully, but no she won't have it.

Julie All I can say is that TIA do a great job Tia have their own website and maybe if genuine people wish to rehome any of the dogs on there that would be the place to contact them. I believe there have been abusive messages and some unverified and unsuitable, inexperienced requests about that dog. Unfortunately when you are being attacked you are reluctant to answer posts. positive reinforcement is a brilliant tool, but I do not think that you can always overcome generations of genetics, and she has assessed the dog. As I say, I don't know the dog but they are certainly in the business of helping others, and taking in strays and surrender dogs that others will not even look at.
I prefer not to judge in this case, I have heard that there is a call for rescues to be licenced and accountable
lots of people are refusing to touch Bull crosses like this following the recent death of a child attacked by a rescue dog. What the outcome will mean I really don't know.

In a similar thread a husky went through similar on fb resxued by a centre they posted a video of him being "aggressive" he was being poked through the bars of cage and was clearly upset unwell and they were not taking note of his warnings before he snapped they were going to PTS a breed rescue luckily got involved and took him on he was very poorly and very underweight but is now a very happy happy husky..... Its a shame but so many dogs in unsuitable places right now its horrible.

Troop I saw that too, but wasn't that the dog that a Husky breed rescue hoodwinked the rescue he was in in order to get him out and into theirs, but pretending to be his owner?

I adopted a bull x lurcher from lurcher link. He is one of many bull x dogs they have successfully rehomed. I can't comment on this particular dog but you only have to look at LL's site to see how many beautiful friendly loving dogs have been placed successfully. I think it is a real shame for any charity to be biased against a certain breed or type. Bull x lurchers are particularly known for being loyal and great family dogs. Also all lurchers were originally bred to take down prey of various types. Bull lurchers are not any different.

It is all down to honesty and accountability. this week there have been 2 abandoned Rotties, one abandoned Staffy (left tied to a fence) one "Come and get this Pit Bull it bit my girlfriend" several "I found this Stray (yes I bet) staffy cross and it followed me home... all UNKNOWN histories and with limited spaces available not necessarily the time to see how they react under different circumstances. Still this is why you pay your council tax guys
