Inaya is in a full neck medium turnout, oldie Crystal is in her lovely Rhinegold heavyweight that keeps her toasty down to -25 and Prince is in his heavy stable rug and light sheet underneath. All of mine are in though.....only reason Inaya is in a turnout rug is that's the only one she can't trash!

How about a Coolheat rug? That will keep the worst of the weather off her but allow her coat to do its job. I've got 4 horses in them and they've been pretty successful. They aren't the most robust rug I've ever owned but they do do what they say on the tin! www.intelligenthorsecare.co.uk/coolheat-rugs

Also the £125 price tag is a bit out of my budget I'm having a wobble now on 40g, might go for 100g. I've kept them in today anyway so it better get snowing! I took some pics last night of the difference between my Exmoor's coat and my Welshie's coat in the snow. I'll put them on if I can work out how

June are your coolheat rugs the newer ones? Mine's about 3 years old and has never been properly waterproof even after Nikwaxing the thing repeatedly. Talin is ok in that in spring and autumn, it works well in milder weather and to pop on if he's damp when turned out when its mild but last year even when he wasn't clipped and it was dry I found him shivering in it.
