Hi All
Just wondered if any of you suffer from shorter leg syndrome and manage to find full waterproof chaps that aren't half a foot too long?
I can't currently fit in childrens sizes, but I am really struggling to find something I can wear! I tried on some Shires ones and they were half a foot too long. I could get them taken up I suppose but I thought I would ask in case anyone on here has a solution!
Thanks!
Mel

I also have short legs but couldn't ever find any short enough! I now have a pair of ski trousers which are lovely and warm and even better came in a short leg length!

Well i guess it depends how short you are. ;D I am about 5'2" and have some Rambo fleece lined chaps and they are ok for me. I normally suffer from short leg syndrome as well and it took me a while to find some that fitted. They seem to have them in most horsey shops so maybe worth going somewhere to try them on first.

Thanks Annas! I just found out that is actually what my 5'2" companion at the yard also wears and she's a little shorter than me also so I will have a look.
I've got lots of snowboard trousers but mine are so ridiculously baggy I am not sure they would be any good for riding in! Do you not find yours slippy on the saddle or are they ok?

I'm interested in this thread as I also have short leg syndrome, compounded by short fat calf syndrome. It's weird, I look at my legs, and frankly, they don't *look* deformed. People don't whisper behind my back, or laugh and point at "That woman with the abnormally fat calves", but can I find a pair of half chaps, or boots to fit my short, wide lower leg, with a size 3 foot??? I can get a size 5 boot on normally - but then I look like puss in boots, as the height of the boot comes over my knee. The Ariat riding boots are a complete joke.... Going shopping for jodhpurs, chaps, boots - anything that goes below the waist basically, is a complete nightmare. Funnily enough, everyone I speak to in a tack shop complains that they have similar problems getting things to fit - even the tall, willowy ones - so who, exactly is buying the stuff in the tack shops???

Where do they come up with their sizing! I was chatting to a lady in one of my local tack shops the other day and she said exactly the same thing!

Although i don't have size 3 feet. I was trying to get long boot for ages with no success. The short ones didn't have wide enough calfs or they were just too long i couldn't bend my legs. You say Ariat are a joke but i went for these (not from this website as that's expensive!!): www.tds-saddlers.com/ProductDetails.asp?PCLinkID=16850Not sure if they come in a size 3 though. I am normally a size 5 but brought a size 4 1/2 and they fitted fine. They felt slightly long in the shop but after a couple of days wearing them they dropped slightly and are now super comfy (and warm). I only mention these as the laces mean you can do them up to fit your calf width. So maybe a boot with laces like that would work??

Hah! The Ariat Grasmere boots come up all the way OVER my knees. They'd have to wrinkle up like a pair of old ladie's stockings to come below the knee - at least 5 inches too long for my short legs!
