Went to Go Outdoors with my daughter. The sealzkin gloves I paid £36 for were reduced to £23! I bought long johns, socks and some thin gloves, off to the races tomorrow and it is going to be bloody cold!

Dubarry thermal riding socks every time for me .... I have about 5 pairs and rarely buy anything else. Mind you they cost about as much as my first pair of riding boots!
I think your feet are warmer if there is a bit of air circulating in the boots as well so if your boots only fit a normal thickness pair of socks and you wear thick ones you might be colder ... if that makes sense.

Always best to wear 2 pairs of thin socks to trap heat between the layers.

Also make sure your footwear can acomadate extra layers, I used to wear size 9 wellies and my slippers underneath, never had cold feet only for working in, now I have high tech riggerboots
