I am hoping to complete my Psychology project in the next couple of months with a view to attending the Stage 2 course this year.
I am looking at the affect of time in a horse's learning. If we take a young starter for instance, and regularly work them at a certain time of day, and then randomly ask them to work at a totally different time, would they transfer their learning automatically or would it be initially affected by the different time? ( e.g. racehorses generally trained in the mornings then raced in afternoon/)
For this I need to look at preferably young horses at an early stage of learning that have not yet had time to 'generalise' their training as a matter of course.
So, if you are or are about to start a youngster and would be happy for me to observe, I would be extremely grateful for your participation. PM me, or post here and I will pm you. You are welcome to see my project outline for more info
Many thanks
Sarah

Interesting topic! I have found in the past that a change in riding time from the norm can change behaviour, always wondered if I was imagining it, expecting it or if there were other reasons like my energy level or environment stuff.. Wont be starting the next baby till march though..
