I have wanted to do this for years, we have finally managed it and got placed ;D ;D youtu.be/OtGFxiJMYxsModified to add, this is the New Forest Point to Point 2012, I am wearing a head cam. The riders don't know where the start or the finish point is until the race actually starts on the day, a true original point to point. I have added a video of one of the races in 2011 (not me riding in the 2011 one, I was watching) - on page 3, shows how varied the routes can be

Thanks, it was unreal!, 3 miles in 7 1/2 mins. The going was heavy to say the least!

Wow! Some stamina in soggy conditions. I wanted to sit back on the saddle two minutes in, but kept going and at least didn't fall off the chair at the end. Glad Little Joe didn't hang you in the hedge at the start — he must remember he can't duck under with you on board. As someone said at the end, "Well Done!"

That was lovely to watch. It reminded me so much of a 9 mile race I once took part in over the Quantocks years ago, organised by the Quantock Staghound. I didn't win and nor was I placed but it was epic! You'll remember that forever xx

Catrin, he only followed the path I asked him too, I thought I could fit under that branch, we did sort of!, the lady at the end is his previous owner!, she sold him to me 8 years ago as he was too slow and boring "slow Joe", we promptly renamed him goey Joey!,
Jen1, you have to have either a purebred or part bred New Forest Pony, suitable to cover rough terrain at high speed. The race is on Boxing Day, worth coming to watch if not taking part.

Wow, Jenny. Well done, I would love to have done that. How much exercise has he been having to get fit enough to do the distance, and in that going?
