We use the sort of thin, rubbery style woven looking ones you can get in any tack shop. VERY similar to non slip matting for putting under carpets. Does the job but not pretty unless you cut to hide under a saddle cloth. Rinses out in warm water and soap and saves a lot of muck on the cloth too.

I was looking at them and thought they looked just like what I have under my rug!

Why do you have non-slip under your rug?

The rug in the living room in the wooden floor, not on the horses back lol

Lol!
I use a Rambo Handy Pad saddle cloth and don't need a slip pad under that, it's great.

The ProLite ones are the only ones thin enough IMO to be used under a well fitting saddle, any of the other jelly type ones alter the saddle fit quite substantially.
The stuff you have under your rug is perfectly acceptable, nice and thin, lightweight and lets the skin breathe into the numnah. Buy it from a pound shop though, it is sold on Ebay pre-shaped to the saddle but way more expensive - LOL!

Hiya, I have been using the non slip carpet sheet from Dunelm with great success on Amber. it's a bit of a faff to put on as it really doesn't slip ( it is quite difficult to position dead right first time ). I'm thinking of sewing panels of the fabric onto her normal numnah to see if that works too, but where is the time...... As a haffie she really is very round with no wither at all, although reasonably slim, she has reduced her Wintec gullet size twice over the last 6m! Rrosie

Barnsby grip pad - brilliant! Forgot to do my girth up properly the other week, and it still didnt move! They are a bit pricey, but I got my new one from a shop on E bay and it was about 15 - 20 pounds cheaper than anywhere else. I also use it with a stubben string girth and I think that helps too ( on a very round cob!).x

Second the Barnsby - nice & slim. I tried sewing (at great expense to my fingers) some of that grippy matting stuff onto a pad, it failed. Barnsby pad was the best for me, they're brilliant
