I haven't found anything that works well for my hair which has a mind of its own when it gets damp - hoods fall off, stock hats let the damp under the brim, baseball caps only keep the top dry. The only thing I have is a trappers fur hat but it is too warm a lot of the time. I think the Queen has it right with her headscarves! What about the rest of you?

I wear a woolly hat and put the hood over and tie it down tight. If I'm too hot I remove the woolly hat. I specifically buy long coats (reach to wellies) with hoods that are a decent shape and will tie down without covering my eyes.

I wear a hat with ear covers but it's not as thick as a deer stalker - they have a good selection in TK maxx!

Army surplus balaclava... doesn't stay dry but repels enough and can sling it on the range top to dry off.

Baseball cap with wooly hat over the top - however hair still gets damp and goes into ringlets + frizz lol

my furry mountain horse timber style hat is my life-saver in this weather! it's perfect - keeps my head toasty and warm, which means the rest of me is warm - i feel cold to the bone without it otherwise, it's weird! keeps my hair lovely and dry, and i also double wrap a big thick scarf round my neck (never when i'm riding though LOL)...

have you a small head jill,? i think you might have, there are trapper hats with water proof lining, but not too thick, not sure where i got mine, but i will have a scout round so you have to come and pick it up,lol

Thinsulate beanie hat with raincoat hood over the top, with hair shoved in a bun into the hat. Soo glamourous!

have you a small head jill,? i think you might have, there are trapper hats with water proof lining, but not too thick, not sure where i got mine, but i will have a scout round so you have to come and pick it up,lol Nope, large head (okay okay, no-one has to put it the other way!!) size 6 7/8 in riding hats, or even 7 If mine gets wet it looks awful until I have been able to wash it and blow dry it, which I don't always have the time to do between yard work and going out somewhere |

I'm with cheekychops-hair in a bun which is shoved under a beanie hat with hood up. It means you can only see my face showing! But my hair has never got wet  |
