As some of you know, Chymnee hasn't had the best year, and was diagnosed with suspensory ligament problems a few months ago. After several weeks of in hand walking and quiet turnout, 3 weeks ago I was given the go ahead to start riding her very quietly in walk. It's still early days, and we're not sure if she'll ever come back to full soundness as we suspect other underlying issues, but she's seeming happy to be out again ;D . We've been doing some groundwork too, and our next goal is approaching the mounting block and offering a stirrup...will keep you posted! Have also been riding Chym's field companion, Tulie, a bit more. We're hacking in company quite a bit, and I'm working up to taking her out without other horses. She's not been the most confident horse in the past and still has a few issues, but she's seeming calmer and happier than she's ever been, so I'm looking forward to working with her a lot more. Tulie doesn't belong to me, but my friend who owns her seems to be working on her masterplan of getting me to adopt Tulie, so it looks like I may be back to 2 horses a little sooner than I thought. Here's Chym in action.... Attachments:
