omg just had to share what a little super star my pony is! Fudge is 5 and since coming off loan in September has been plagued with problems but the eye problems have been the worse! He gets conjuntivitis and his tear duct block and then its a vicious circle of conjuntivitis and blocked tear ducts! Now normally they sedate for flushing tear ducts as they do have to stay quiet and still and not a nice thing to be having done. Angel pony doesn't need sedating though.. He is perfect for the vet.. Been done over a dozen times. We have talked about long term he may need this doing regularally.. Every few weeks and vet was going to show me how to do it and see if he'd let me flush his tear ducts, its not normally something they suggested but since he is sooo good.. Worth a try. Save her having to keep coming out. . Last time they were done she got me to do one under her guidance.. No real problems.. She said I'd need someone to help me though.. And I had to do them today. So first time doing them myself with vet to guide.. And big problem.. Couldn't find anyone to help!! So thought I'd see if he'd let me do it by myself... Got everything ready first (stabbed myself with a needle! Lol) and he was perfect little angel.. I'm buzzing at just how good this boy is gotta love his calm.. Do anything attitude!! Even if I dont love his vet bills!! Lol

I must say... as much as i cursed his loaners for sending back a very overweight pony, with poor feet, who was lame on arrival with suspected laminitis/severe stone bruising (although loaners paid that vet bill!!), has had severe white line disease, ongoing problems with his eyes since september.... they have done wonders for bomb proofing him!! ( i think its called having two twins who unfortantly seem to have no regard for being quiet around a pony and i think he learnt to cope quite quickly... even when being ridden having the other toddler drive his quad bike into his back legs!!! And just stand there!!)
He really is going to be a super little first pony/lead rein... we still have a few kinks to iron out (he is very girth/saddle shy.. again came back sore all over from the work they did with him day before he came back and using a rubbish ill fitting saddle!! but we are working on that just very slowly right now... need to fix him before we can do much more riding! lol As he started ridden work then got severe white line disease so about 6 weeks out of work)
