Tom Widdicombe is back in Shropshire for another clinic from the 31st May until the 3rd June 2007. The clinic is being held at Jill’s yard at Mill Green, Hinstock.
For those of you who do not know who Tom is, he is a RA who works with horses through quiet and consistent understanding of how the horse functions in its environment, and how it learns to understand what we are asking. His book "Be With Your Horse" is a revelation for many many people who struggle to communicate with their horse, and he is a great follower of Mark Rashid, taking and using much of what he has seen when Mark is in the UK. Tom is based in Devon and has a schedule of full clinics in the south and south west. This is a great opportunity to work with him in this part of Shropshire – not to be missed.
All of the horse and rider places have now been filled with each one having an hours work with Tom in the manege, then a further hour to practice what has been learned, for each of the 4 days. We should see a real improvement in each by the end - if any of you who remember last year we were all raving about how much improvement everyone's horse had achieved - and that was only 2 days
We would like as many people as possible to come along and spectate as it really will be a great event and you'll probably get a huge amount from it. To spectate it will be £10 per person per day or you could pre-book all four days for just £30 per person before the beginning of May. It could also be a useful way of seeing what Tom does and how he works - we are hoping to hold a further one in July and will be inviting applications for rider places at that one.
It is an outdoor venue so wear suitable clothes, and you may wish to bring a chair. You are also advised to bring food and drink, as it will go on each day from 9.30 a.m. as long as everyone is enjoying themselves!!!
Jill and I also thought this would be a good time for a meet up. So Friday 1st June from 6.30pm at the yard, we will have a DG social evening and fundraiser with AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE!!!!!! (C’mon guys, you know you all want to. The last meet up was poorly attended and was a great night, so come along, put the faces to the names, even if you can't afford the time to spectate all day).
If there are enough people buying spectator tickets then Jill and I will donate some wine and nibbles for the evening, if not then it will be bring your own. Either way, what could be better than sitting around chatting about horses for an evening?
For pre-booking before May 1st and directions, feel free to pm either Jill or myself. If any of you would like a flyer again pm Jill or myself with your email address and we will forward one onto you.
We both look forward to many pms!! ;D
