Hello,
Has any one done a horse home study course before? I'm thinking of doing one. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with them?

Anyone can offer a distance learning course, so it pays to check the credentials. How will the course compare to a college course, particularly as lots of equine courses need a lot of hands on. Who are the course mentors is another important question. They may have had Kelly or a BHS fellow write the materials, but it may be a clerk in the college office who marks and assesses what you do. If it's a local college, you usually ask around locally and get a feel of the college reputation, who do you ask about distance learning? Can they put you in touch with previous students. Of course you can always ask on here, as you have done! All distance learning colleges should be listed here www.odlqc.org.uk/ the official education body. If they are not, ask the college why not.
