Raz escaped through a hedge before Xmas but was seemingly unhurt. She was very stiff left hind right front after but recovered with a bute She had the chiro out 3 weeks ago who found she had a pelvic tilt and was tight through the shoulders and lumber region. I have been doing shoulder stretches everyday which she loves and added in some hamstring stretches for good measure Last night I decided to check her prior to the chiro revisit next week and when turning in a small circle to the right couldn't get her right hind under her and looked visibly lame. I trotted her up and she was sound with a very slight short stride (by a mm) on the right hind. I then tried the circles again and she was sound Is she just stiff from standing all day in the field or have I agrivated something stretching her or is something more serious going on that the vet needs to look at

The only other thing is she had stomach spasms new years eve and runny pops since and was wondering if that had an influence

hi Bryony my boys gut problems did cause him constant pelvis problems for yrs and he couldnt cross his hinds over when on a tight circle Now his gut problems are sorted his pelvis is now free all by itself Dont know if that is the case with Raz but i do think the gut and hind end are closely linked Turned out my boy had blood worms in his arteries supplying blood to his gut Hope she is better soon, maybe some charcoal will help her gut?

She is on charcoal and has a very sensitive stomach. I tried reducing down the charcoal as was told they need a break from it every 3 months but she got the spasms so is back on full dose and has had a repeat
Really excited to her BF is doing much better now. I have the worms thing in the back of my mind just in case
Have got some l-glutamine on order to help
Guess I'm fretting that she's done some serious damage going through the hedge that I've missed

Did you do any warm up before asking her to walk a tight circle? If not then it wouldn't surprise me at all if she was just a bit stiff and needed to walk it off more gently first. When Lorna was setting exercises for me and Talin she always had us working on big circles before asking him to stretch round on tight circles. He was always a bit stiffer on the right but after gentle walking exercises he evened up and over time it's sorted.

No warm up but was suprised at the significant difference between the two sides and the fact she seemed worse than when the same exercise has been performed before
I think I'm being over paranoid

Does your chiro give you any exercises to do with her?
OK well that rules out her being stiff from being cold. As I said, Talin struggled to step under on his right hind and it was just a case of massage from Lorna and carefully chosen exercises daily with me, nothing more sinister. The exercises were key though, otherwise he'd have just stiffened up again between treatments from Lorna.
