Unbelievable! The residents should be glad they still have Police Horses. West Mids lost theirs, I think, over a decade ago and have to hire/borrow horses from other forces when necessary!

I also expect these are the kinds of folk who feel their cities should be built in the countryside for the views and clean air pmsl!!!
I remember as a child Dad and neighbours scrambling for manure for the compost heap when the local livery yard liveries rode past and their horses left a pile outside our house! None of this nonsense of OMG its a horse poo, call health and safety lol

What a load of twaddle - some people really have nothing better to do!

I have had a couple of serious arguments with people in Wrexham over this issue - once with the Police horses (when we had them for 2 years) and OMG they had pooed outside a church!!!! :0 and once about people's pleasure horses. They don't seem to realise that this issue is not the same as dog mess. Dog mess is toxic, horse poo is just recycled grass.

What a load of poop! Think themselves lucky that they have this type of police presence, although I very much doubt they will have it for much longer anyway.

Unfotunately this is the way things are heading, the further people get from depending on their livestock the less they respect them, next they will be banning them.Doesn't matter whether its dogs (banned from most places now)or anything else.

this is the way non horsey people feel. My sister, who has ridden, and who's kids ride my horses, feels like this about horses pooing outside her house - because it will get picked up on car wheels and spread in to her drive....

Perhaps the police could hire people (or get community service offenders) to pick up after the horses, to satisfy the residents, rather than have unsightly and perhaps frightening bags attached to the horses. Can see Monty or Kelly being employed by the police to desensitize the horses and help them accept the bags being attached to them for this challenge.....`

IMO it's just totally stupid thing to request. Maybe they would like to see us all like a real life buckaroo with a bucket and spade on the side of our horses for when they go.. Its poo.. Not a man eating alien, it's non hazardous, and knowing the estates that people are complaining about it in, I would think they have other more important things to worry about...

I think dogs wearing nappies is a much better idea myself and all men should be catherterized so they can't pee in the street or behind trees. Joke. How times have changed, as has been pointed out horse poo was gold dust for gardens with many rushing out to scoop it up.

That's what having cars does to you.... atleast horse manure and even horsey farts don't destroy the ozone...... people are barking up the wrong tree here....

The arguements put forward were for the problems caused to wheelchair users, pushchairs etc... But the mounted force ride on the roads!?! One very confused peep here...
On the same note, the only time I would jump off and kick away the droppings would be on a marked or raised crossing or outside a school gate.
