Didn't feel right updating generally on the Snip thread...thanks everyone for all the lovely comments, it does mean a lot. I'm feeling more at ease about it now, though still heartbroken. It's not been a great year, having started the year on crutches with a badly broken knee it got worse as the injury just wasn't healing. I went through all sorts of doctors telling me various things from "you're being oversensitive to pain" to "you'll be on crutches forever" Eventually got an MRI scan that showed the damage and had surgery to rebuild the kneecap (which was disintegrated at the back-also got an apology from the doc who told me I was being a wimp!) have gone from strength to strength since the surgery, came out of the brace earlier than anticipated, and am now riding again. I still need a stick for some things, and will be in physio for most of 2012, but I'm getting my life back! Rhythm is just wonderful. I really couldn't ask for a nicer, more genuine horse. Have been having lessons, and we are starting to get there! (yes I'm wearing spurs because the right leg is still quite ineffective, and the spur allows me to move his ribcage off my leg to create inside bend, without having to nag with the weak leg) In other sad news, we lost our elderly cat a week before Christmas, two animals in one month is so unfair. The house seems lonely with no cat around, so today we went and secured two Maine coon x Bengal kittens, who will be coming home with us on 20th Jan.

Re the stick..... don't worry about it, I had one for 14 years, before I finally got rid... even now I think I need it for balance when it's snowed and iced up... balance does nothing when the stick won't grip the ice, lol
well done though for persisting with the dr's.. I had one the same and it was because of his... "im a surgeon, I should know.." attitude that I ended up with a bone disease and loss of bone.
Keep doing your physio it will be worth it in the end, your weak leg may never be as strong as it was, but don't let it hold you back. xxx

It's good to see you back in the saddle after all your problems, and Rhythm working well for you despite your weak leg. He's very handsome, how old is he now, and what are you hoping to do with him this year? Wishing you all the best for a great 2012.
