They are ALL strong, it's just that we teach them what we want from them. My feeling is too much too soon for this particular filly - go back to walk walk and lots more walk (in short sessions, she clearly isn't comfortable doing it yet) then a few strides of trot then back to walk. And make your circle small so long as she is walking, so that she can feel your control and your leadership. As Annabelle says, develop a leader/follower relationshp with groundwork.

If she long reins well off a Dually why do you want to lunge her?

I am varying her work as much as possible as I have a bit of time pressure as someone has put a deposit on her and want to collect her at end of January lightly backed. I am long reining in evening for 15 mins and was planning to lunge or walk in hand in the mornings to vary it as much as possible so she doesn't get bored.

I'd start with lunging her on a very short line so almost like in hand work on one line. I'd also introduce clicker so she gets lots of rewards for doing the right thing. On the short lunge line I'd be asking for just walk and halts, asking for a little bit of bend, then straight again, and rewarding every try. Gradually, once she's got the hang of it, then I'd let the line go a little longer and introduce a few short trots, again clicking and rewarding every try and rewarding every downward transition too. I wouldn't ask for canter until the walk and trot are really well established and I've been able to let out the line to a reasonable length and then I'd click and reward just the upwards transition at first, then the transition and a stride of canter etc, building it up really slowly. That's the way we've taught both our youngsters and they both lunge happily and calmly.

Rushing wont help at all it makes you do things you wouldnt normally do. I would tell them you need longer to get her right. Skipping things now could store up problems for the mare in the future.

I'm wondering, same as sarah, if this might be pain related.
Does it happen after a certain amout of time working, or on one rein, or at a particular pace or change of pace? And has she done this since you started lungeing, or is it new?
The spinning away from you would make me wonder about disomfort on the inside fore. If she is doing this on both reins, it may be that she is not fit enough / muscled enough through her back to sustain the circle for long. You've probably considered all this and are in a better position to decide.
You could try lunging in a straight line at walk with her against the fence line and you 10 foot inside the track, parallel to her shoulder. This has the advantage of you not being behind her if she's handy with her back legs, reduces her option to spin away from you, and keeps her straight if there are any foreleg issues. When she has that confidently, you can go on to ask for a circle at each corner. And if you're feeling really fit, you can move it all up to trot, canter would just be showing off!!

She does it on both reins, regardless of whether its a circle or a straight line! She long reins fine so have gone back to that for now. Its Luna Domane, Technically I haven't got a desposist on her but on Mercury who is on loan to Jade so I need to get her going for Jade so Mercury can go to new home.

Well fantastic weekend Her teeth are being done this week but I have been long reining her since the original post of the Dually and she has been brillant. On saturday we long reined into the small back pen which is pea gravel so not too bad a surface after a few circuits of the pen I edged to the middle and she did a few circuits before I straightened her up and did exactually the same on other rein Yesterday we repeated the same procedure and after a few circuits around me, we unclipped the outside rein and did 2 circuits of each rein in walk and then finished for the day. I am so chuffed with her and thank you all very much for your help Also Jade leant across her and then sat and walked round yard bareback afterwards and she behaved like a saint. This morning, we did out normal walk in-hand but with Jade on her and again she was brillant and we even ventured 100 yards up the road (without Jade on her back and 2 cars passed) and she was really good too I have a picture which I will upload on a new thread
