Hi there. I might get shot down in flames for saying this but if you can't find the right sort of person and home IMO it would be kinder to him to have him pts. It is not the easy option but could be the best for your horse. I have recently had my old TB pts and it was the most awful thing and I still feed sad but I also realise that I kept him around too long - he had been badly abused, had been lame for 10 years and for the last year or so life was a bit of a struggle (mentally) for him. Whatever you decide to do - good luck it is not easy but I also think it is not fair for these horses to be passed from pillar to post.

Hello Lydia just wanted to send (((((hugs))))) and wish you luck with finding the right home for your boy. It's a horrible situation for you in lots of ways but I really feel ( as a mum of 2 who will both be 21 before I know it) that you should go ahead with your plans to travel, or you risk looking back on your decision and regretting it for ever more. Take the advice on here, do your utmost to check the buyer or loaner is genuine, be totally honest with them, and you can do no more and have nothing to feel guilty about. Good luck.

I know where you are coming from with the whole PTS thing.....but as long as he is in good health and not in any permanant physical pain then there is hope and there WILL be someone out there for him. You have done so well with him so far, he could still go on to be happy and well cared for with someone else. Got my fingers and toes crossed for you both.
