My horses poo seems quite runny compared to my other two horses he has been wormed. He seems to eat really quick and I was wondering if this is the cause. I have only had him since may and I thought at first it was because he was settling in but it's still the same! Has anyone got any thoughts?

Perhaps use some pro-biotic to make the hind gut work more effienicently (can't spell, sorry) like Yea-saac
how old is the horse? is he OK with speedi/sugar beet etc, or other sugary things?

He's 9yrs has had minor laminitis at one time so I'm sure sugary stuff wouldn't be that good will try pro-biotic any ideas where I could get from?

Jackie JA Taylor supplies with good prices I've used yea-saac on a 29/30 yr old that had loose poo, and couldn't digest sugar very well (including carrots) yea saac sorted it out very well.

Charcoal is amazing stuff - it's great for this.
vets will prescribe codeine phosphate if it's really bad & a diet of dray hay just to get on top of it - but might just be the time of year, grass is extra wet = looser poos

I find that when the horses are in more, the haylage can be a little rich causing loose poos. Fine Fettle Feeds product Happy Tummy is an activated charcoal which is excellent for settling them down again.

You haven't said what he's being fed? Sometimes if a horse has the runs is because they're not getting enough fibre. How much hay or haylage are you giving?

Also you say he has been wormed but when and with what, is it possible he wasn't done properly before you had him? I have found the charcoal to be great fir this but also feel pro biotic to anyone I think is getting a bit soft, even due to wet grass because the extra fluid in gut mite upset the bacteria or I dunno wash em out so I give them probiotic and they seem to settle again...

Sandy's poo is a mix of perfect, a bit loose and a bit cow-patty depending on the time of year, the grass etc. At the moment they're a mix of a bit loose and perfect, I assume it's down to weather, different patches of grass, and it seems just the norm for her (She's on fibre only small feeds and is worm free).
