So proud of myself today. Having never jumped an obstacle with a horse in my life, only watched others. Today we were out on a hack and came across a large tree trunk blocking our path. My friend checked it was safe and with a bit of encouragement from my friends and watching one of them clear it so i got an idea of how to approach it, my 4 1/2yr old gelding and I took our first 2 1/2ft high jump.
Yippee he cleared it safely, I kept my balance and now my confidence has increased that I want to include jumping in my weekly lessons. Freinds both said my position was really good when taking the jump.
So proud of myself. Sorry I just wanted to share my achievement. Never thought I would ever go over a jump and I know it wasn't massive, but to me it was more than I ever thought I would do.
Still grinning now ;D

OMG Spirit! That is SO fantastic! 2 ft 6 is a really respectable size too! i get all emotional at 55 cm (which i think is 1 ft 6) - having taken 30 years in between jumping rounds at that size it felt like a pretty life changing thing so I totally take my hat off to you! well done! :-) :-)

Thanks everyone for your comments. Its not easy when everyone around you is jumping 3ft+, it does make you feel as if you are a complete idiot never having achieved the same level as them (although I have never really had the desire to show jump!), but I have too say I was proud of myself.
Thanks Again.
