Advice required please
Does ragwart grow in the winter? I have spent a couple of hours digging up rosettes of what I think is ragwart, but was told by my YO that it was a dandelion weed and that it does not grow in the winter! I am convinced that it is ragwart as I have spent years digging it up, but just want conformation that it does grow this time of the year? I am on part livery at the moment and assumed that it would be dealt with by YO, thanks in advance for your comments

Does the plant have white sap? If it does then it is a member of the dandilion family, and definitely not ragwort.
Ragwort can be more noticeable in the winter as the horses eat eveything else, depends how much grass there is.
Can you post a photo? There are some real plant experts on the forum, so someone will be able to identify it for you.

It does grow in the winter, or at least you will still be able to see the rosettes, even if it isn't growing very actively. Young dandelions do look quite similar but ragwort has thicker purple stems. Dandelions don't grow much in winter either but the plants will still be visible.

There are rosettes around- the sap is a good way to check if you are unsure. We've been under snow since November so I salute the suckers if they've managed to grow through that
