My sealskinz gloves failed - the socks were ok for a while. This winter it is a ski jacket and trousers that have seen me through and one of those hats with ear flaps that do up under the chin.

OH's Joka gloves - seriously excellent for clearing troughs of ice, OH found the sealskinz not as warm and also tore a bit with the amount of ice he was clearing. search on line for them - they don't seem to make small sizes as they are from a compnay that supplies them mostly for window cleaners.

A second poo scoop and rake for OH to help out with the extreme poo picking! Can't imagine why I didn't think of it before!

(winter before lasts purchase) My Ski trousers! From Lidl, only £20! They have been FANTASTIC and I wear them all the time! I want a hot outdoor water tap Does anyone have heated water drinkers for the field? That would be a lifesaver!

I want a hot outdoor water tap Does anyone have heated water drinkers for the field? That would be a lifesaver! Tank/trough heaters. Thats my lifesaver! And my frost-free faucet/tap. The ice here is pretty bad, too and its d@mn cold... I don't know how you get by without them!! The horses and sheep each have a tank heater. The electric bill is a bit higher, but its worth it! I have a friend with solar-heated troughs and she likes them, but they don't hold as much water. My selfish indulgence for riding is toe warmers that stick to your boots under your socks.... heaven!
