I don't know if you remember but I told of my friends accident a few weeks ago when she and another horse were attacked by two alsations who flew over a fence at them. Her old boy (29) went down but only had a few cuts compared to the other younger horse that got badly cut up.
However her horse now has really bad laminitis - not sure of the order of things but he was very quiet after the accident then went down with colic and now this. He has had colic in the past as he's a very uptight type of horse but never laminitis before. The vet thinks its both the accident and frosty grass that has contributed to it and now my friend is actually preparing herself for the worse. He is on 4 bute a day which is not controlling the pain so is now on something stronger as well. Poor old boy he certanly didn't deserve this and she is so upset as she has had him for nearly 20 years. Your thoughts please.

Well quick update - he has started the new painkillers and actually put his head over the stable door for the first time in 4-5 days! Early days still though.

Update - he's not really improving. The very has taken his front shoes off and put on large pads to hopefully relieve some of the pressure but he still can't put weight on both feet properly - just a waiting game but she is trying to claim the vets fees back from the dog owners as its getting very expensive.

Poor old chap - I hope that whatever happens, he doesn't suffer much longer - his feet might improve a lot now that it is a bit warmer xxxx
