I don't but I have some photos of RA Sue Palmer longlining my youngster - his first time being longlined - which I'd be happy to post.

Cookie... We aren't a million miles away... You'd be very welcome to come and practise on one of my bunch! Near bishops Stortford now, 5 mins from stansted airport!

Aw, thanks Kate, that is very kind. I've been taking my boy out and he has been great. He is pretty forgiving though and I'd like to be as soft and accurate with him as I can. He was also longlined as driving prep so responds better to voice than to body language really, which works for and against me. Your spider was lovely at the workshop, so very soft and responsive. Our schedule is pretty erratic at the mo, as I'm just starting to get baby into a routine... Might manage your place for the meet up later in the month tho, we could have a chat then Thank you

Me and my sister have been longlining bobby to some extent but coming a bit unstuck, he doesnt misbehave, just getting him to move is the problem!! lol! when u take him out for a longlining walk he just stops and eats, voice encouragment doesnt work, and being new to it we dont really want to do something wrong and upset him!

anastasia i have seen a plastic bag used to encourage a horse to move forwards on the longlines just hold it in one hand with the line and flap it around when bobby stops and wont move forward, it should work and wont hurt him one bit

I might do a small tester first, he went mental when i first turned up scrunching around in my ski trousers haha! I also tried to start lunging him, which when we started off he was fine, then started to slow and mind wander, tried to urge him on with body language only and he went mad bucking and farting round the field eeeekkk! Hence the hat went on (should have been wearing it already! tut tut!) i think i was too loud with my b-language. I think i need to do some more reading, only used to lunging and loose schooling ponies that have needed more vocal body language to get them moving lol!

If you look for the Holistic Horse Help videos on YouTube, I'm pretty sure I long lined Bell in the demonstration that we've got a clip of on there. Email me (sue@holistichorsehelp.com) if you can't find it and I'll send a link.
