When I first took on my very first horse a mental 17yr TB gelding that dumped the most talented riders soon as look at them.
Two wonderful ladies took me under their wing at the stables and helped me with what turned out to be the best horse ever. One had a nutty chestnut Arab mare, the other a lovely pint size TB mare that was a speed machine.
We did everything together, mainly coz no one else would ride with our nut jobs. ha ha
We have kept in touch, and we lost the first of the gang in 2008 when she was hit by a car age 18, then last year I lost my old boy at the grand old age of 28 and half, and today we lost the pint size speed machine.
I feel so sad that the whole gang is gone, but so pleased and privilege to have known and loved three mental loonies that no one else would have.
Kizzy, Magic and Minnie the most mental, lovable nut cases I have ever known!

Hope they're all together, grazing in the long grass over Rainbow Bridge.
What lovely and lasting memories you have of your time together.

How sad for you, the end of an era. I'm sure all three are reunited, though they're probably thundering round the Rainbow Bridge at top speed and annoying all the more peaceful residents....!
Here's to Kizzy, Magic and Minnie tonight. xx

We lost my OH's old boy on the Monday before Christmas he was 36. He went with his head on my OH's lap, so quietly and dignified but even so, so sad. His best buddy (my old boy) is with the young girls now. Yes, it seems like a certain part of your life has gone, luckily we have our memories.

How sad in some ways - but how lovely to have all those memories.
The first pony I ever rode was in his 30's when he died peacefully in his sleep - he was ridden on the lead rein the week before - they are all very special.
RIP all.

It sounds like it was a priviledge to know the three of them, very very sad to say goodbye but they're all together now, as it should be
