thank goodness for having a routine it has been pouring for two days now and the field is pretty much under water. I wouldn't say we are flooded but there is water coming up through the flagstones in the hall so all horses have all been in for the last 2 days, the easiest way to feed them is to put the boys at the back of the house in the only 3 stables that have doors and let the girls into what is normally the boys yard/pen and feed them there while I put night time haynets in the girls shed and quickly muck out when the girls have finished eating they have to be herded back into their own yard so that I can put feed and hay in the boys yard and bring the boys back down from the stables well tonight I miss timed it and ended up doing most of it in the dark with no light or torch it was a bit like the wacky races but it worked out in the end we only do this routine when things get really bad but they all seem to remember what to do and where they should be going oh how I long for proper facilities and an indoor school hope the rain doesn't last for much longer though they are going through much more hay

I hope the rain stops soon for you - that's pants! Glad they all know their routine though - it is handy. When I bring our lot in, they normally go into the right stables without me having to herd them about or create barriers!

That's very impressive! They really are creatures of habit, aren't they.
