I think given the economic climate it could well be a yard owner selling on behalf of a livery
it might turn out to be a great family horse whos owner just can't manage any more

yes more likely a yo selling for a client. I went to see one on a yard which was being sold for client. Not that i bought it that is but just an example.

Well my YO is selling her horse and her daughter's pony but she isn't a dealer!

You can get good dealers, it's the horse that needs to be right. View the horse with open eyes, forget who is selling. I hope that gives you a bit of excitement back to the prospect of viewing.

if a dealer i would have expected the number to have popped up else where, as others have said, suspect they are just selling for someone else for what ever reason

Eyeball the horse , assess the horse, test the horse, concentrate on the horse. If you like the horse then you can remind yourself that there is a seller in the picture.
Then concentrate on the existence of the seller, asking for evidence as to who is the owner of the horse and any other questions you may have stored away.
Go with the idea of enjoying the experience.
