Have looked at the sizing thread and most natives only just fit the red dually and say they could have done with next size which is the black one. I am tempted to buy red-small but not sure if it will fit my welsh c what do you think here is a picture

I use a black one on Millie- she's a 15h 2 TB, she wears a full size bridle and normal headcollar. The buckles are all on the middle settings. I think that even if the throat lash and head piece are ok, the rope noseband may hang a little low.

I ordered a black one for my 14.1 pony who normally wears "cob" sized bridles. It fit, but I had long straps leftover everywhere. So I exchanged it for a red one instead. That one is on the last or second-to-last hole, but I feel it's a better fit because there's less stuff flapping about his head, and there isn't as much slack in the rope piece. Based on your picture, I think you are probably also in that between-range.

Almost certainly a Red one. Dee's driving Welshie 13.2hh takes a Red comfortably. The black fits our 15.2 and much larger 16.2.

I'd probably say red too, my horse wears a red one and he wears a cob size in normal headcollars (admittedly his cob size headcollar is quite roomy but he wouldn't fit a pony one).

Definately red, I've used mine on my Exmoor and Fell who both have larger heads than an average C.

My cob is 16hh, and the black fits with room to spare.

I would say red would be fine as they should be a snug fit. That size fits my welshx but I have had to make a few extra holes.
