NO flu here, buit certainly feeling disconnected from my body LOL. Had horse push against me yesterday (trying to barge out of stable) and said horse pushed my neck right over to one side. OUCH. Dr said it'd take up to 2 weeks to heal (doesn't she realise I am made of sterner stuff than that ? ) I can turn my neck more easily today but still can't tilt it to one side (not easy when I need to put ear drops in one ear lol)
Hope all you flu sufferers feel better, spring is round the corner... honest !!!

Ouch. Well that's a lesson to teach him when you're better. Barginess can be very dangerous and it's so easy for it to start. I was almost mowed myself yesterday. Note to self.

Kanga, he is a she LOL, a stroppy 2yr old who hasn't had much handling when sent away for weaning ! Now she's back, she's bigger and doesn't know about personal space ! Sigh ! And I am teaching her, she backed up lovely at the gate, pushed chest, she backed, pressure off, reward, back again, pressure on, backed up, pressure off, stroke neck reward, then back again. Getting much lighter on her feet now, used to be like asking a brick wall to move !

yes i am also feeling frustrated!!! mine had to have 5 weeks off due to the weather and my work commitments don't leave space to ride during the day weekdays so frozen am and pm. rode out both days at the weekend and will do the same this weekend. we have our first competitive ride mid march and it just seems an uphill struggle at the moment although they do not seem to have lost too much fitness. weekdays seems to be checking four legs and a tail, putting down haylage and feeds.... clocks go forward in 10 weeks ;D

Well after the snow, Elvis was sick, then i rode for 2 days and broke my coccyx and 19 days later theres still not a lot of improvement and i'm still on painkillers but i don't feel disconnected because last night 5 of my horses escaped and having caught 1 with a head collar and no lead rope I walked her in front while 4 very well behaved horses (2 20 months old) walked behind the whole 2 1/2 miles back to their field. then 3 legged it lol and i did wonder why i kept horses briefly. and it was one of those nice moments when you suddenly realise you have gained their trust and they would happily follow you anywhere. I hope you all get well soon and do manage a ride. I know i won't be getting in the saddle for another month at least but I'm looking forward to another 3 mile walk at the weekend taking the horses up to the woods for a quiet hack with my daughters Theres only 71 days till the clocks go forward or 10 weeks and its not dark till nearly 5 now ;D so things can only get better
