I run a 4x4 and have just changed insurers.
The company with whom I have dealt is 'Sureterm Direct', they are specialist in 4x4 and I was led to them via comparethemarket.com. In my particular circumstances, their quote was the best by a long way.
Before placing the biz with them, I did a google search on sureterm and it showed mixed reviews. My own impression so far is that provided you know what you want and have an eye to read every detail, it probably works out ok but if your requirements chop and change you could be hit by various fees.

Shielas wheels for my shogun, by far the cheapest. I dont think £550 is bad not that much more than mine and I am a right old git with full no claims. ;D

I've just got my renewal from Aviva, it £485, is that not too bad then? I was horrified! it is fully comp with two named drivers. Cars not worth much more than that!

We're with Adrian Flux - renewed in December for £390. 2 named drivers, 0 NCB, car is a K reg LWB. We considered going for just 3rd party, fire and theft, but the difference in price wasn't really that much. Adrian Flux specialise in anything non-standard, including imports and modified cars. This is only our second year with them and we haven't had to make any claims yet, but we've been happy with their service thus far!

How old are you? 4x4s arent cheap to insure anyway. Mine is about £465 with 8 years no claims and i'm over 25. Although - i did wrap mine round a tree in the snow so i've had to pya more to insure the new one

A little aside, not directly relevant to the original post.
It has been interesting to read some of these posts where age is thought to have been advantageous in securing a good premium. I myself have always been a regular driver but had not been a car owner for many years. With my seventieth birthday fast approaching, I figured that maybe if I didn't have my own driver insurance policy before age seventy, it might be mission impossible after my seventieth birthday. So now I run a 4x4 in my own name.
Just wonder if there is any reader in the insurance biz who can brief me on insurers attitude to drivers age seventy plus.

I dont think you'll find it for much less than £400 to be honest. 4x4s arent like normal cars to insure.
