I am knackered! so a huge positive for our future came just before Xmas - we have a forever farm, we move on March 1st location is remote and by the sea more on another thread. So that was HUGE good Karma at last Thing is the house we are in has got jealous! Christmas day - Aga thermostat - turns to arctic circle not great for cooking Turkey. then inthe evening it decided thermo nuclear melt down would be good!! Boxing day the mains electric line went down at about 2pm cutting off 19 houses in the area cue arctic aga - again. Electric came back at 8pm. Fox got multi coloured hen - feathers everywhere no body Wake yesterday to - no electric, again. No electric means no aga means no heat. I get out of bed aim for the trip switches to hear niagra falls yes a pipe had burst - not any old pipe but the mains water in!! water pumping horizontally out of the light switches in the kitchen - the only warm spot we have. I also had to take daughter back to Loughborough - nothing to go wrong there you would think. Unless idiot woman stops at Corley services onthe M6 to clear the inside of her windscreen. Oh I only have to go and lock my keys, mobile and money in the ruddy car and me out of it. and do the phone boxes work? - no they ruddy don't. Anyway Chris came out with the spare keys after I had scrounged a phone call off a lingering policeman. While I was out though - multi coloured hen turned up alive and well but missing tail.... any more??

Bloomin heck Amanda! What a roller coaster. I hope there wasn't too much damage from the burst. Gld hen is alive and well. Congratulations on finding your forever home... I didn't know you were looking, when do you move? The other thread isn't up yet. ;D I've only had a burst or parted sink drain so have had pools on the utility floor if I forget not to pour anything down the sink! Cupboards going to have to come out to get at it! Mmmm wonder how long I can manage, can't face the upheaval? I'm such a wimp!

Mandal - Move by March 1st. the flood damage is quite large - the burst was under a lathe floor, under floor board, under a bath that had been fitted in such a way that there was no access appart from destroy the bath panel. the damage downstairs is extensive, carpets, wood work, ceiling, furniture, plaster - the cat cushion! cats not happy 3 bed are just not enough!

Oh dear that sounds pretty grim. I hope the severe frost don't return until you get things sorted enogh to function comfortably. Sounds like the cats are worst off though. I'd kill if my bed was spoiled!

I feel your pain re the flood, 2 pipes burst in my loft 4 weeks ago and destroyed my bedroom, hall and stairs and lounge, with some damp extending into the other 2 bedrooms, whilst I was at work. Only room unaffected is kitchen. Currently having to live back with my folks (who thankfully are nearby) and won't be back in for weeks Only saving grace is kitchen was undamaged, my fish tank survived complete with fish, and my horse also lives at my parents so at least I'm on the doorstep for the horse for a while! Hope all gets sorted for you soon!
