Just watched a video we took of our dog trying to get through the snow - never realised I did this, but I kept telling him to "walk on".

i always 'cluck' at the dogs and say all sorts of horsey things, but then i whistle to call the horses for dinner (well that was when there was grass, now they are trampling over me as soon as i get there for their bowls lol! They do have hay btw lol, its just they can see me making the food instead of being at bottom of field lol!)

I am always telling my kids to walk and trot on! When need car to power up, I lean forward and pretend I'm a jockey (would be getting a whip ban though!!) and in this bad weather, I have been patting my car dashboard and saying 'good girl Zaffy' when she has got me out of a tight spot!!

lol, I've tried telling my dog to walk on and he just looks at me like I'm an idiot!!
I've also picked up an annoying habit from 'Its me or the dog' of saying ah-ah when my dog's doing something wrong, it does work with him, but not so much with my horse lol!

I find myself 'whooshing' the cat when I need her to go out and she's a little reluctant. Apparently it works when trying for canter as well……

Animal talk works on people too. A few years ago I was out with my two German Shepherds. One was impeccably trained and well behaved, the other, her puppy, was on a learning curve but pretty good. I went into a shop and left them both sitting outside. A man was ahead of me and was served and just leaving the shop, when I saw the pup out of the corner of my eye sloping off. I growled 'get back here' and the poor man came back to me looking very worried! He was very relieved when I said 'no, not you, the dog!!'

Ha ha Sarahbing, my husband calls that my schoolteacher voice! All who hear it obey!
I also do find myself shouting, come on puppies to the horses to get their attention, and sometimes my hubby tells me off for saying come along trot on, when I want him to hurry up! Oh dear I sound completely like a mad horsey women now!

Guess what I do for a living Cassiejane? Yep, schoolteacher!!!
Although in my defence, I can honestly say I haven't had to use 'that voice' in the classroom for over 2 years now. IH techniques work with students too...
