Saturday 12th August, 2 - 6pmBracebridge Heath, near Lincoln. Meet Jan Fennell - TVs ‘The Dog Listener’ Lecture, incorporating Q&A. Books, DVD and audio CD sales and signing St. Johns Primary School, Bracebridge Heath, Lincoln Jan Fennell's remarkable gifts have earned her the nickname, “The Dog Listener.” A lifetime love of dogs had led her to question traditional obedience training techniques. No matter how gentle or kind the approach, controlling a dog's actions means forcing the human will onto the dog. Since force only succeeds in suppressing the animal, these methods are often ineffective. Then, in 1989, after seeing Monty Roberts (known to many as the “Horse Whisperer”) in action, the idea of inviting an animal to want to work with a person using the animal’s own language seemed obvious. Extensive study of the canine world and its instinctive language of the pack has enabled her to help the most desperate and delinquent of dogs. The method now known as “Amichien Bonding” is a non-confrontational, stress-free, gadget-free process achievable by anyone with an open mind and respect for dogs. IN AID OF THE DORIS BANHAM DOG SANCTUARY (reg. charity no. 1103372) Admission £12.50 per person (pre booking essential, as tickets will not be available on the door) Contact ; Sue Bosworth - 01522 827527 email sue.boz@ntlworld.comJan's series is currently being shown on Animal Planet
