As the new editor of the Listening Post, I would like to be able to use more photos of IGDGers horses. Photos need to be of the very best quality and clarity AND PLEASE DON'T PUT THEM ON THE THREAD ITSELF or it will spoil the surprise for everyone else.
To begin with I need photos of:
1. A horse wearing a beautifully fitted Dually
2. A horse being trotted up in a beautifully fitted Dually with the handler at his head not at the shoulder
3. A picture of a horse's backbone
4. Sepia type photo of a horse in work before the 1950's
5. A picture of Anne Robinson
6. A picture of Pat Smythe
Any pictures need to be COPYRIGHT free. Please give your real name in your e-mail so that I can give you the appropriate credit if your photo is used.
Please send your photos to me direct at sarahweston.logg@virgin.net
I shall add more from time to time. Thanks so much for your help.

I have received some fabulous (and funny) photos so far. Thank you so much. I also need some general stock photos of horses doing interesting/ cute things..........
Anyone got any pictures of Gerd Heuschmann at one of his seminars?

Anne Robinson? Pre- or post-facelift? With/without Dually halter? The mind boggles......

Post facelift really would be good. No Dually - I think she will need a chifney!
I have had some gorgeous photos through and the lovely thing is that most of them have arrived with a bit of a story attached. Some people have even been out in the cold cold snow on a photo shoot especially for me! I might not be able to use all of them but they will be kept in the 'library' ready for action when needed.
As you know ;-), the Listening Post endeavours to be a high class magazine and therefore if you can avoid photos where there is something apparently sticking out of the horse's head through some weird angling on the photo, I'm more likely to be able to use it. I think we all love our horses so much that we fail to see the tumbledown wreck of a building site behind the horse or someone doing something entirely unsafe.
Arty shots would also be appreciated. If you want to get on to the front of the Listening Post it needs to be in profile and the very highest definition.

I think we all love our horses so much that we fail to see the tumbledown wreck of a building site behind the horse LOL! This is my problem! I've loads of pics with erm grotty buildings in the background! I've a great one of Molly rolling with a bucket on her head but behind her is a ramshakle building, road cones, soaking bins etc. etc.

I can do a tiny bit of alteration but not much. It's like angling I think, there's always the one that got away moment when the horse moves, or the light changes or the battery goes on your camera or the memory card is full. Thank goodness for digital cameras. I am really looking forward to Simon Palmer's Photography Course which will take place her on 14th/15th May next year.
Now, has anyone any old racing photos - sepia type?

Next set needed - horses exhibiting stereotypical behaviour - crib biting in particular or even a picture of a chewed fence or door and a horse wearing a crib biting collar (even though I hate them!).
Still need a nice one of a horse being trotted up with a Dually on.

Hi Sarah, Kelly asked me to write an article for the LP some time ago about my barefoot surface that I created at home for my horses. I did this and e mailed it across. It hasn't been included in the last 2 editions so I am hoping that it got there ok?

Hi Gillee, as I have only just taken over I may not have been given everything yet. You can e-mail it to me again if you like and then I have got it. For obvious reasons ;D, Kelly has the last word on what is included in each magazine and sometimes it will be that the time is just not right or perhaps it doesn't fit at that moment. I am quite happy to have a look at any article with an IH slant and work on all the editorial stuff like proof reading. However, that will require people not to suddenly get an ego about things. I am used to performing semi-colonoscopies but not everyone likes having them!

Now call me thick but I have just thought who I could ask if they have any old racing photos - after all Kelly's Dad was a racehorse trainer!
