Sounds like a mess! I feel for you guys, wish I could send you some of our snow equipment for your roads and yards! Its actually been really warm (nice) here. We've had snow, but not the miserable temperatures. I actually love being snowed in... no work and just stay home and play with the horses!

yes please do send us the snow equipment! Our councils are useless, well i guess its not the people as they work hard, its the equipment they are provided with, its not hard core enough!!

We've got it. Its a bit rubbish though. Thick n fast n settling, dangerous roads, then snowy sleety rain and mushy roads, then snow again. Pleased to be home now with nowhere to drive to. On foot this afternoon checking a few 'unloved equines' to ensure they are cared for. I may be some time...

We managed to get out of our steep-sided valley for the first time since last Friday, to get supplies and collect our christmas turkey from the butchers. The lanes are just sheet ice and impassable, even in a 4x4. It was -10 here this morning at 8am, so goodness knows what it was earlier in the night.
Horses all looking really well despite the cold. Darties are used to cold conditions - it's what they're bred for. The spanish girls are like fluffy polar bears in their rugs, and even the TB seems toasty - all seem to be holding condition. It's obviously paying dividends all this dragging haylage up the hill in plastic bags - and I've got biceps like popeye!
Was grumbling about how difficult everything is when I caught a report on Sky Sports about a racing yard where they had only 1 tap working between 40 horses, and deliveries of food were unable to get through. They said they were having problems keeping the horses fit, and then showed some lovely scenes of horses galloping through the snow.
