Nowt wrong with a good old sing song is there?! I often do when i ride out on my own, or if i feel im getting stressed

Great advice on this thread. Hope your daughter is recovering now and really glad that you're starting to get on well with the horse now.

My daughter is doing really well thank you for the good wishes - and of course we know now that the horse is a stallion! He was sold to us as a gelding but his blood tests show he is not even a rig but a full blown stallion with two retained testicles. Considering this he behaves very well! His operation is booked for 4th January and in the meantime we shall treat him as a stallion - and use the advice given on this thread too.

i learnt this week just how sensitive horses are to feelings . Ive had my boy over a year but this week my mum suffered a stroke - its been horrible On the night i was in hospital with mum i texted a livery who let my boy out - that evening i went to bring him in and he was a different horse - did not want his head collar on, so bolshy and rude all the way down to his stable - i was completeley astounded. Ive had him 18 months now and hes had quite a few homes before me - im convinced it was because someone else turned him out then i arrived upset and worn out having been up all night - very very sensitive animals xxx

My goodness poor chap! hope his op goes well, hes a lucky boy to have found some one who bothered to have him tested!
