This is the first time I have had to post here. My sister's dear horse was PTS this morning as he had lost his sight.
He had been retired for a couple of years and was happy in the field and happy with her new horse, but she noticed that he seemed to have problems seeing and it had got rapidly worse. When he couldn't find his feed bucket she decided the time had come.
He was a sweetie, a spotty horse of unknown origin, although I think the gypsies had owned him at one time. He had some arab in him and he was very gentle, always at the bottom of the pecking order. He could be slightly nervous of people too if they were rough or he didn't know them, but he was a perfect hack. He never minded anything - trains, buses, tractors, fields of cattle and he travelled many happy miles around the countryside. He would give a few happy bucks sometimes, but it was always high spirits and excitment.
He had been a lovely companion to my horse when he was young and they remained the best of friends. Last year when my horse went over there to stay he trotted right up to Morse (going past another friend) and they spent ages scratching each other on the neck).
A friend who will be hard to replace for everyone. RIP.

What a wonderful tribute to him you have written - no-one could ask for a nicer horse from the sound of it. RIP Morse.
