No, this isn't another competition, I genuinely want to know if anybody can identify the make of this rug, or suggest one that fits like it. Unlike most rugs it doesn't finish just in front of the withers. I didn't buy it and there is no label on it anymore. It used to have a 4" square embossed leather patch by the breast buckles. It must be at least 8 years old now, and has been used every winter. It's stood up to the youngsters teeth without ripping, he wasn't wearing it, his playmate was! It's had straps, buckles and tailguard replaced and reproofed and still looks perfectedly good.

Have a look at premier equine, we have just brought our lot them after they came highly recommended. And they are excellent!! They are loose all over, there is no pressure on the withers and they do come that bit higher up the neck. They have had them on for few days and they haven't slipped at all. Amazing things! And bargain too.. In the sale £57 each! Good luck!

It looks very like a shires one i have from years ago. Mine is that same blue colour but it has a full neck. But i do think the label is a bigish square label at the front. So i have identified it i think but the bad news is they don't seam to make them as good as they used to. Do agree with 'K8' the premier equine rugs are very hard wearing don't rub and are quite good value for money.

I bought a tredstep rug years back with a leather patch at the chest straps, i don't think they make rugs any more. Good luck :-)

Thank you for your help so far everybody. Sounds like they're not made any more then. Perhaps they stopped making them because they don't wear out or am I being synical?

Ha ha, tredstep make chaps and boots but no longer rugs. I could be wrong about the make though...

It looks like either a Bucas (although not seen a Bucas in that colour but seen the style), a Shires or a Saxon rug. Does it have a half neck?
