She's all black, a new forest, she was suppose to be 13 2 but i think at a push 12 3 , between 10-14yrs (so maybe late teens ) and shes in foal to a 15hh cob (9hh shetland ) due end of March. Not been handled much Not nasty just very weary, so a project for me for 2010 as well. The man was selling quite a few but the others were thin, all belly with spines showing and very nervous and one poor mare who is due very soon had a massive belly and i think a dislocated hip I did ask him if she would be able to pass a foal with such a damaged back end and he said she foaled with no problems last year somehow i don't think he would be able to sell her! I'm going to reserch her injury as i can't see how she could foal without extreme pain. I'm hoping my new arrival will be with me tomorrow but its all down to how much snow we get tonight, i may have to wait till next weekend.

omg i feel sorry for the other por mares is he cutting down or getting rid of them all ?
glad your little mare is now safe and i think that poor mare with the bad hip will surely be in pain when she foals !!!! how does he know she foaled ok she probably foaled in the field with no one around and could of been foaling for hours or maybe the hip has got worse since last year !!! where about are these horses for sale ?

Norwich, i could have quite easily bought all 4 but i wouldn't be able to care for them all if the foaling went wrong, he had 2 fleabitten greys, both spiney but he had brought them in and they were all sharing a stable with loads of hay.

Well done for taking her on and giving her a kind knowledgeable home, she's a very lucky pony to fall on her feet in this economic climate. Hope all goes well with the foaling, we'll need photos when the 9hh cob arrives!
I hope the others find caring homes too.
