I have asked about this on an other forum just to see what everyone thinks about it. I have been told by the vet that it is the best to use with arthritis. I know it is expensive, £150 & it goes very fast to start with, but then it last up to 6 months for the tub. Have or do you use it? & if so how was your horse while on it?
I have been told to buy the cod liver old caps, but I don't believe they will do the trick in getting her right. Any help at all would be great please. I need something asap to get my horse feeling good again. Many thanks.

This is one of the products my vet mentioned to me when my pone was diagnosed with arthritis. She said the expensive ones like this are good but if you don't have the money to spend she recommended Science Supplements Flexabilty because it has some research to back it up and it has high levels of the right type of ingredients. I have been giving it to Fizz and he is definitely better than he was, but he also had injections so I don't know for sure how well it works.

Cosequin is excellent, has really helped my mare who has arthritis and a tendon/ligament injury. Switched on advice from vet and she is definitely improved.
I buy mine off US Ebay, lots of companies on there who sell. Works out much cheaper than buying it in this country even if you get stung for customs charges (sometimes it slips through).
I buy the 1400g pots (twice as big as the ones the vets supply for £150) and the last one was around the £125 mark including customs charges and delivery and that will last my mare who is on the high end maintenance dose of 2 x scoops a day around 7 months and costs me around the same as the Cortaflex she was on before did.
