In cumbria we have one called lune valley horse and riders. It's really useful to catch up on what's going on. It's slightly different to the local pony club message board as used by people who are not necessarily competative. I find there is much more discussion on the local riders message board and you get to know what people are doing around your area, that you might not neccesarily know. It's very useful as a way to find what local horses are up for sale too and whether people have a good reputation or the horse is legit for what's been put about it. Does anyone else have local message boards? Something to look at while you can't ride!!

Sounds like a great idea - & also with my Horsewatch hat on - to exchange info re suspicious vehicles, people, incidents etc!

I think a local woman set it up. It is really good if someone has had snoopers around the yard or trailers taken, that kind of thing. When the worrys about plaits in manes was at it's highest, someone in cumbria put that they had found plaits and where they were, so really can be very useful. It has a lot of interest, that and our pony club branch message board - Oxenholme pony club.
Also on the local message board, people have organised an under 10's non competative get together, a ride or fun training, as it's seen to be lacking in the local pc and rc.

We have a local bridleways group. I first found out about Trec on there and they organise loads of rides through out the year to promote the bridleways. Also very good for local goss

I'm getting the impression that we are unusual up here in cumbria. We have such a community networking thing going on. I just wondered if anywhere else had it.
We have Morecambe Bay Riding Club website message board. Oxenholme pony club website message board. Lakes Riding Club Message Board and Lune Valley Horses and Riders message board.
All four are used all the time and they are open to everyone. You can buy, sell, give info, chat, say thanks to people, etc etc.
Really useful.
