Although I love my muck boots I find them very slippery in this weather. My OH's has different soles and are fine. Can anyone recommend a non-slip boot for the ice?
Thanks

I've got the muck boots that are suitable for riding, possible called something like tynes? I bought them so long ago I can't remember! Grip seems fine with them but I've never tried the normal muck boots so can't compare.

I'm just wearing my hiking boots, brilliant grip, haven't slipped once yet.

I've given up with muckers and wellies - I have chill blains on both my feet from them I'm now wearing my toggi canyon boots (leather yard boots that are tall and narrow enough to ride in) which are much better

Dublin River Boots! Can't recomend them highly enough!
They don't look very grippy, but I walked 9 miles in mine today, through deep snow, and I had warm dry feet at the end of it, and only slipped a couple of times. My son was in his walking boots and slipped more than me!

Doesnt matter what boots i wear, always end up on my ar**! Have bought grippy things from well known home ware catalogue you put on the bottom of your boots. Theyre FANTASTIC, i feel much safer out there.

I've just bought some muck boots "Tyne & Wear" - ooh heaven! just to have feet that you can still feel when you get home, I had the dublin river boots last year and although they were so comfy and feet were never cold they literally fell apart - all stitching round heel and up the back seam came apart and across the top of the foot cracked really badly! I bought Graham Aigle wellies last year that are thermally insulated can't remember which one's but cost around £125 keep him warm in winter cool in summer really good

Theyre FANTASTIC, i feel much safer out there. I`ve been wearing my tyne walking wellies which have been good in this weather but I`ve been looking for some of those `grippy things` that you put on your boots (not crampons such as the snow climbers use) and haven`t been able to find any. I`ve just looked online at the only well-known home ware catalogue company and couldn`t find what I was looking for but didn`t really know what to call them. Please could you pm me the name if you don`t want to put it on here? Thanks!

My toggi Calgary boots have been excellent. They have a hiking boot like sole to them but are also slim enough to ride in. I have been wearing them everywhere in this weather (even to work!) and they have been brilliant.

I've got the Rydale Malhams. They've been great in this weather and were smart enough to wear to work, too (well, no-one commented, anyway!!).

I wouldn't swap my Tyne Muck Boots for anything and have tried loads of different boots over the years... I don't slip in them anymore than I would in other boots, and my feet are NEVER EVER EVER cold!

I bought some Cotton Traders snow boots on Monday. Traction is great, my toes are toasty and they were half price in the sale. Can't ask for more - well I could, the only colour left in my size was bright orange! Won't lose me in a snowdrift then.
