Last year just before xmas we went to view Peaches for Jake. Somehow we managed to keep it quiet and told Jake we could not get her till after xmas but we got her delivered xmas eve and kept jake away from the farm. Then he had the best Christmas day surprise on xmas day. he was crying with happiness. She was great till March and then went lame. Had xrays etc all vet could come with is that her feet were not balanced farrier balanced them and still not sound. softer ground came and signs of soundness ( may just be my wishful thinking) Anyway she has been sound now but the snow has hampered riding. Jake was desparate to ride today as It was his one year of owning her so here is her and Jakes year. If we can keep her sound she may be able to do some dressage in Jan fingers crossed. You may have seen some of these photos but just want to celebrate our time so far with Peaches. Day we took delivery 24th dec 08 First ride on his new pony Jan/feb 09 Hacking Summer 09 Bath time LAME :-(( sound on a straight line and on left rein so vet said ok to ride her. xmas day 2009 TODAY Just a quicky as going was not good so we stopped. jake wanted to pop on to see if she is still sound. even though lame most of the year we would not be without her.

Gorgeous pony!
I'd recommend getting a 2nd opinion from a UKNHCP trained person (there's a few that are also qualified farriers) or an equine podiatrist (go by the acronym DAEP). They also can share their experience of how diet and environment affect soundness too.

Lovely photo's! I've been battling feet unsoundness this year too - poor foot balance and a nice variety of arthritic changes occuring too! Remedial shoeing has been a life-saver for Chester and I. I really, really hope she comes and stays sound for 2010, she is a gorgeous pony
