Just a thanks to the ILPH (that's what I know them as) I contacted them regarding three horse that I was very worried about. One of them particulalry was very lame and I supect pedal bone rotation through Lammi. They were on a river bank and as far as I know had been there at least 7/8 years with no one taking care of them. This sumer I saw them and they were so fat with fat hanging from there shoulders and hind quarters the likes of which I have never seen in any horse. I hadn't been near that bank for a while but when I went last week things looked really bad. Telephoned ILPH they promised to look into it within 24 hours, they were great. They did and the horses owner was tracked down and very sensibly signed them over. They were removed and taken into care with 3 days. Feet have been trimmed and they are been given time to settle before any decision made on there future. All 3 over 10 yrs old and american quarter horses, never ridden but the sweetest natures. "lovely old ladies" was the words used by the man who went and sorted them out. I know things don't always get done as we want or that quickly but I can only give them the greatest praise and thanks this time round. Well done.

I had to contact ILPH a few years ago re a incredibly thin horse, (skin and bone) in a field with no grazing next to a public foot path by a junk yard. The regional Welfare officer went to have a look. It turned out to be owned by someone who had been prosecuted before and was banned from keeping horses for five years.

I'm full of praise for ILPH too as they've responded quickly to one of my calls.
